Deadheading
Deadheading refers to removing spent blooms on flowers, or flowering shrubs, to encourage the plant to rebloom. Typically, once a flower begins to fade and die, the plant then directs energy into forming seeds. Deadheading stops that process and improves the overall appearance of the plant by redirecting energy into creating new blooms.
